Fritillaries
Snake's head fritillaries (Fritillaria meleagris) belong in old, damp meadows like ours so we are attempting to establish them from nursery stock. So far they have persisted for three years but the test will be whether they spread from the original introductions. We protect the flowers from grazers to encourage the production of seed.
