Persian Ironwood (Parrotia Persica)
This has been planted to enhance the view down the garden. It is an 8m tree with good autumn colours even on alkaline soil.
Swift nesting boxes. Have been affixed high up on an east-facing wall. We hope to attract these wonderful birds.
Ulmus sapporo AutumnGold (left) & Ulmus Wingham (right)
are resistant to dutch elm disease and also known to be acceptable food plants for the White letter hair-streak butterfly. The latter used to be widespread but has declined alongside the demise of our native elms.
