This has been planted to enhance the view down the garden. It is an 8m tree with good autumn colours even on alkaline soil.

are resistant to dutch elm disease
and also known to be acceptable
food plants for the White-letter
hair-streak butterfly. The latter used
to be widespread but has declined
alongside the demise of our native elms
