Muntjac buck amongst trees
The original field was full of buttercups
This used to be a field for cattle which was yellow with buttercups in the summer. About 1990 it was planted with native trees by the Warwickshire nature conservancy. It is reaching the stage now where the trees are suppressing the vegetation around them.
We keep glades open for wild raspberries, teasel, bramble etc. and it is maturing into a nice, rich habitat. The Little Owl flies in this area.
